In the 90s players rediscovered the glories of stacks, half stacks and combos, so everyone sold off their preamps. Now you can't take a stroll on eBay or through a secondhand guitar store without tripping over a stack of the damn things. That's very bad news for the clumsy of footfall, but great news for those of us who can't get enough guitar gear.
